Wallingford Art Walk

  • Post author:

Despite the saucer-sized flakes of snow that briefly festooned Wallingford last week, Spring is creeping up on us, and with it comes Wallingford Art Walk. It kicks off May 6th and will run the first Wednesday of every month through October.

If your business is interested in hosting some art, or you’re an artist interested in exhibiting, check out the Wallingford Art Walk web site for info on how to get involved. Also:

There will be live music and a Kids Art Competition. You can buy raffle tickets for surprise prizes and there will be clowns frequenting 45th St – so watch out. With a free shuttle to get you around and with Restaurant discounts you will be able to make a grand night of it!

We’ve been assured those are the good kind of clown, not the kind that are hiding under our bed, waiting for us to go to sleep.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I love the fact that our art walk features clowns. Maybe it should also include bacon.
