How Green is my Wallingford?

  • Post author:

Green is the new black, people, so get on it! This month’s Wallingford Walk, led by Pam Burton of Puget Sound Solar, will take us on a tour of three Wallingford home that have “greened the energy in their homes”:

Solar CellsOne took extra measures to improve energy efficiency, one recently installed photovoltaic and solar hot water and one has had solar hot water operating reliably since 1982. They will tell us what they did right and not so right and you can ask questions. We’ll end by visiting a home that is just starting. We’ll get to witness a home energy audit being conducted and find out what that would tell you about your home.

This Saturday, April 18th starting at 10 am. Meet at Tully’s.

Sponsored by Sustainable Wallingford and the Wallingford Community Senior Center. To learn more about Wallingford Walks, to suggest topics or areas for walks this year or to get an email to remind you of each walk, sign up for the Wallingford Walks group.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
