mail1This Saturday is Wallingford Clean-up Day and you’ve got two, yes count them, two opportunities to participate:

  • 10 am – 2 pm at the Wallingford Neighborhood Office (2100 N. 45th St, behind Tully’s, door faces Meridian) to join the clean-up with the the WNO. They will provide: tools, litter pick-up bags, waste pick ups, grabbers, gloves, and safety vests for those working in/on streets and ramps.
  • Starting at 10 am, the East Wallingford Hot Tub Association will be reprising its clean-up of its adopted streets (roughly south of 45th Street NE to NE 40th between Thackery and I-5), and welcome all comers (no hot tub required). Show up on Saturday at 10 am at 302 NE 44th St to join the fun. The EWHTA has vests, grabbers and bags from the city, OJ and bubbly from the Semyans, and Scott promises to, once again, go all medieval on the graffiti.

Remember folks, cleanliness is next to godliness. Get godly!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
