Stations of the Cross

crucifixWe don’t ordinarily do “Lost and Found” as posts (but encourage you to use the Forums for them). However, this one can’t be passed over. Mehal wrote:

I found a 6-foot crucifix on 39th and Stone.  Is there any lost-and-found in Wallingford that I should turn it in to?  If not, is there a contact in the police department I should report this to?

Police department? No, no, no. Separation of church and state, after all. But, if the Bishop of Wallingford is reading this, please contact Mehal.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I saw it outside of Stone Soup theatre the other day, and kind of figured it could have been a prop (but didn’t see anybody there to ask about it). Maybe give them a call?

OMG! Benediction flashback!! Was there an incense burner nearby? If not Stone Soup . . . maybe Father Steve at St. Ben’s went walkabout?

ha! you could call the parish office at st. james cathedral… it’s not a crucifix (where’s the jesus?), but it could be a cross used in the processional at daily mass…, but i think meganc is right, more likely a prop. that’s *hilare* that you found it just hanging around.
