Wanderlust

When people meet Baby Z, they tend to say one of two things:

  • What beautiful eyes he has (he does, though)
  • He’s so alert (translates as “frenetically, voraciously excited about everything.” cf. parental exhaustion)

This was driven home to us the other night trying to enjoy a meal with friends at Via Trib in Fremont. Great food. Great company. Perhaps we’ll eat in next time.

Unwilling to give up entirely, however, we are hoping to pick up some tips tonight at Wide World Books and Maps:

Wanderlust and Lipstick: Traveling with Kids with authors Leslie Forsbery and Michelle Duffy: Traveling with your kids can be a fun-filled, transformational experience for the whole family, especially if you are well prepared. Tonight, experienced traveling moms and co-authors of Wanderlust and Lipstick: Traveling with Kids, Leslie Forsberg and Michelle Duffy, will speak on turning possible roadblocks into opportunities for stretching your family’s travel wings. You’ll laugh at their lively anecdotes, enjoy their visuals, and get insightful tips to help with your own family journeys, whether on a long weekend or a months-long round-the-world trip.

Talk starts at 7 pm. We’ll be the ones in the back with the…alert child.

Jordan

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
