Mayoral Candidates at Gas Works

  • Post author:

The Wallingford Chamber is partnering with the Fremont Chamber to host several Seattle mayoral candidates at a picnic in Gas Works Park this Wednesday, June 17th from noon to 2 pm. From the Fremont Chamber’s web site, which seems to have more info than Wallingford’s:

Join the Fremont and Wallingford Chambers as well as the North Seattle Industrial Association & Aurora Merchants as We Meet The Candidates. Mayoral, City Council and City Attorney Candidates will be present to chat with you about the issues. (most candidates will be present, but due to tight schedules some will not be able to attend, you can contact Jessica [Vets] if you wish to inquire who will be in attendance)

We will have a small discussion format, where candidates have an opportunity to chat in small groups, you are free to move around the Gasworks Park Picnic area and talk with all the candidate to better learn their positions to make an informed vote. There will not be a formal presentation to give candidates more time to chat with you individually and in small groups.

Lunch will be provided by Homegrown
Cost: $20 with RSVP, $25 without RSVP

The Wallingford Chamber site doesn’t mention a cost, but does ask for “more Wallingford participation in small donations of snacks or drinks, or help provide the lunch fare, for which we’d pay.” Contact [email protected] or [email protected] to RSVP.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
