Don’t forget the Wallingford Farmer’s Market this afternoon (Wednesday) from 3 – 6 pm at Wallingford Center. Here’s what’s fresh from their press release:

Stoney Plains now has the season’s first green beans…along with pea vines, purple kale and carrots. They will have sugar snap, snow and English peas in a week. … Sidhu Farms is back … with strawberries.  Also with strawberries is Tiny’s … and Collins …. Alm Hill also has fennel bulb, sunflowers (to pretty up your house) and sunflower sprouts (to liven up your salad), pea micro-greens, peas and butter lettuce.  ACMA orchards has cherries … with apricots to follow in a week.  Don’t forget to pick up some amazing bacon from Sea Breeze Farm … as well as cooling off with an ice cream bar from Whidbey Island Ice Cream Company.  … Full Circle has baby zucchini … with squash blossoms.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
