Moving? Filming?

  • Post author:

A reader sent in this note this morning with a question for those of you down in Lower Wallingford:

i was driving to work this morning (7/23) and saw a large number of pretty large moving-type trucks blocking several roads (pretty inconvenient at 7:30am, i can only imagine the noise to the neighbors!) around the 37th and Woodlawn area.  i wonder if you have heard anything about the cause or the duration?  From some of the sides of the trucks, it looked like it might be related to a film company??

What’s the word, neighborhood snoops?

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

There’s one parked in front of a building at Wallingford & 35th also. I’ll keep my eyes open to see if it turns out to be more than standard moving…

There’s a Campbell’s Soup commercial filming in a house there on Saturday. I bet that’s what it is. They took some pictures of my house as a potential site too, especially the kitchen. But they didn’t pick it 🙁
