Tell us a story

writingReminder: Next week is Stories from the Community Week, a thinly veiled attempt to get you, the readers, to cover for the fact that Wallyhood is going on vacation.

First announced earlier this week, Stories from the Community Week runs all next week (Monday to Friday or Saturday, depending on how many contributors we get), and we’re asking you, the people of Wallingford, to share a little something about yourself and your lives with your neighbors. It can be an anecdote, a reminisce, a diatribe, a paean, a haiku, or even a limerick. The point is that at the end, your neighbors should walk away knowing a little more about the people who live here in our neigborhood. Check the original post for some ideas.

You’ve got a story in you. Let’s hear it. E-mail [email protected] with your story or story idea.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
