Continuing Stories from the Community Week, Shane McSimov introduces himself:

CIMG4302Just a mid-west guy that transplanted to a small neighborhood in Seattle, Wallingford.  It has been an amazing 9 months here in Seattle moving from Illinois and I have to say I couldn’t be more pleased that I end up here in Wallingford.  I am Shane Mac and I live here in Wallingford with my Brother Max.  We are just two simple midwest guys that like music, design, and making people smile by having a good time.  We are both musicians and since the move we have played a couple of shows at Kate’s Pub on 45th.  We will be playing a few coming up this fall so check the schedule for updates and info.  We are the “Sons of Theo” (literally).

We play guitar on the back deck with the neighbor’s singing along, have cookouts, and just like to eat awesome food, so feel free to contact us and cookout anytime!  We also hang with the Ducks at Gas Works and play guitar on the water a lot. (That’s Max and a duck in the photo)

CIMG4263I look forward to meeting more neighbors in the “hood” and feel free to check out what I am up to on my blog.  Irwin’s has became my second home and would love to meet up for coffee anytime!  I will be playing on weekends in Irwin’s cafe in the coming months thanks to the awesome staff.  I am also looking to get weddings going in Seattle because flying to the midwest is really getting old.  Been playing weddings for a couple years and provide a show that is Live and DJ.  If you know someone that is getting married please check out more about the wedding show.

Here’s to living in an awesome neighborhood and meeting some awesome neighbors!

Cheers to health and happiness!

Welcome to Wallingford, Shane.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
