Library re-opens

The Wallingford library branch has finished its remodel and re-opened! Jayanne writes:

I dropped in to see the Wallingford branch library, which re-opened on September 8 after a two month closure for refurbishing.  The branch apparently now has a faster Internet connection, new carpet and paint, an additional computer, photocopier, a stand alone self-checkout station, and a refreshed large-print and paperback selection. The space also was apparently redesigned for more efficient workflow and ease of access (though I kind of miss the way the kids’ section used to be set up).

And folks should be sure to check out the many resources available through the Library website.  I was particularly pleased to learn that the Library provides on-line access to Consumer Reports.  To find ConsumerReports.org, go to the Library website and click on “Databases & Web Sites.   Next, click on “Consumer Reports & Information” and then on “Consumer Reports.”

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Is it just me, or does it seem like their collection has shrunk a considerable amount?
