QFC Remodel Update

Kristin Maas, QFC Public Affairs Director, dropped us a line this morning to update us on the remodel they’re undertaking:

I just wanted to send you a quick update regarding the remodel at our Wallingford QFC.

  • On Thursday, September 3rd, the Wallingford sign will be removed. We will be doing some maintenance on the sign and keeping it safe during the major exterior construction. We plan to re-install the sign on the building following the completion of the exterior construction.
  • Beginning on Tuesday, September 8th, the parking stalls immediately in front of the store (directly against the sidewalk of the store) will be closed. This will be the beginning of the major exterior construction.
  • On Monday, September 28th, Teresa Dean of Mi Piace Espresso will officially join the Wallingford QFC family. We are excited to welcome her to the team! Teresa is currently enjoying some much deserved time off with her family.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    Craziness. I’m glad I read it here before I went up there and saw it missing. Is Mi Place the little espresso stand on the right side of the parking lot? Are they becoming part of the storefront now?
