Jordan

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    Hi,
I’m trying to bid on auction items, but I keep getting the message that my bid is invalid. I’m filling in the asterisked fields and pressing the bid button. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    What a great idea!!!

Diane — I was having the same problem — figured it out on my 5th try:

Don’t use a dollar sign or zeros; for ex., type “50,” not “$50.00.”

It would be great if instructions were added to the website above the bid field for each auction item to prevent precious dollars from not making it to our senior center!

Sorry folks are having trouble. This was the only auction software I could find, and I don’t have much direct control over it, but I’ll see what I can do.

If you can’t figure it out, e-mail the item and the bid and I’ll enter it for you. Thanks for your patience!
