GrooveDrive Saturday

Groovedrive09_LRG_webIt’s a bit beyond our borders, but it’s benefiting Wallyhood’s favorite cause, Wallingford-based food bank and family services org FamilyWorks: GrooveDrive, an evening of music and dance.

They’ve got an impressive line-up of DJ’s, including SeaMonster regular Shapeshifter, full cash bar and a guaranteed flood of fashionable people. $10 if you bring a non-perishable food item donation (baby food encouraged) or $25 if you arrive empty-handed. You do the math.

Saturday, Nov 21st, 3100 Airport Way South, top of the Tully’s Building. Click the pic at the right for all the info.

If you’re worried you won’t have the duds to keep up with the eye-candy that’s sure to be shimmying around, you could head over to the Day After sale Buddhaful is holding at their Wallingford location (4528 4th Ave NE) and get your party clothes…except that it’s the day after, so…OK, not quite sure how that would work.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
