Marcus Eaton @ Babalu

  • Post author:

Sunday evening Babalu was host to Marcus Eaton, an extremely talented songwriter and guitar player.  Joined by Kevin Rogers on Drums, the duo played an intimate show to a very attentive audience.  The show was dynamic fusing Rock, Jazz, and Folk influences with finger picking, strumming, live guitar looping, a drum machine, and most importantly a My Little Pony.

You took some really good photos under nearly impossibly lighting conditions.

Babalu’s never sounded as good as it did on Sunday night. The small but attentive crowd was treated to a great mix off Marcus’ older albums, as well as glimpses into new material that will be featured on his upcoming cd. I’ve been priveledged to hear Marcus play live nearly ten times now, from venues as large as the Gorge to as small as my living room, and it never fails to amaze me how he is able to create and play a set that captivates all who attend.
Add percussionist Kevin Rogers to the mix and the show was complete! I look forward to seeing these talented musicians again, and can’t wait to hear them play with bassist Garrett Sayers, who completes the “Marcus Eaton Trio.”
Shiloh, the Magic Pony had a great seat!
