GFORD!

  • Post author:

The re-erection of the iconic Wallingford sign took a break with only “RD” complete yesterday, but they’re back at it today, John reports. One of the roof workers is dressed as Santa (or, perhaps…)

Kristin Maas, Public Affairs Director for QFC, adds:

We are so happy that the letters are going up, because that means we are getting closer to completion.  It’s still a little too early to have a confirmed date, but we are about 6-7 weeks out, if everything stays on schedule.

The Starbucks is open full hours – from 5am – 9pm.  You’ll find Theresa Dean, the former owner of Mi Piace Espresso, usually working Monday – Thursday from 5am – 1:30pm.

There is some very important news that we would like to have you pass along to your readers:

We will have to close the store while the construction crew installs a transformer. The store will be closed at 2am on Monday, December 28th and re-open on Tuesday, December 29th at 5am.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
