Snip, snip

GrinchStarting our week off with a bit of holiday cheer, Bob writes:

We put strings of LED Christmas lights on our backyard fence, along the alley (on the 3900 block between Wallingford and Densmore).  Someone clipped the wires in all 4 strings.  Don’t know if it was simply malicious (easy target of opportunity) or if this is part of a campaign against seasonal displays, energy consumption, etc.  No note.

As we recall, last year someone stole the wreath and LED christmas lights from the porch of our neighbors up the street, Sara and Terry, as well. Hopefully, this is the end of that.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Maybe it’s that guy who tears down all the flyers. Be careful, he could be a minmalist.

somebody stole our wreath last year too!

Geez, Louise! Someone should be giving you an Energy Star award for using LED’s, not clipping your lights!

My wife took down the lights yesterday and found even more wires clipped. Apparently they came back to do further damage.
