SUV flips at 44th and Wallingford

Darwin sent in these photos taken at 8 pm tonight by 44th and Wallingford (outside of Julia’s) of a flipped SUV:

Hard to see exactly what happened, but he says “I could only see the one vehicle involved.  SPD, SFD and towing were already on the scene.”

Hope everyone’s OK. That’s awful close to a playground.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    Maybe they wanted to get in line for breakfast and didn’t realize that there’s not that long of a wait for Julia’s on Wednesday mornings.

    How bizarre. SUV’s flip easier than folks think, but this one is aiming the opposite direction from what you would think and the wheels appear aligned straight ahead??? Guess it could have spun 180 when it landed on its side.

    There were some cops and a fire truck at the bus stop in front of wallingford center tonight around 10:45. I was walking home from work and asked if any of them knew anything about the accident and all i got was that the SUV was stolen. I guess they never found the people who split because they asked if i knew anything about it. not much of an update but a lil’ somethin’ somethin’
