From the Woodland Park Zoo web site:

Dinner reservation? Check. Verified movie times? Check. Babysitter? Uh oh. Don’t fret—let Woodland Park Zoo handle childcare for you with our brand new Parents’ Night Out program. Kids ages *4-11 will enjoy a fun-filled and educational evening under the supervision of zoo staff inside Zoomazium, while you enjoy a night out on the town. Supervised activities for kids include games, puppet shows, movie, and a live animal encounter, plus a tasty pizza dinner!.

It’s for potty-trained children 4 – 11 years old, and costs $25 for each child (+ $20 for additional siblings) and 2010 nights include February 6, March 6, July 17, August 27, September 24 and November 5th. See the Woodland Park Zoo web site for more info.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Another option for older kids (grades 2 – 6): the Pacific Science Center does occasional sleep-overs. Unfortunately, they had to cancel their Valentine’s Day one due to lack of interest, but we definitely took advantage of their New Year’s Eve sleep-over.
