Challenge Multisport

You’ve got to give it to Nadine Foster. She doesn’t do things half way. For example, if you were going to break your arm, you would probably stop there. You’d say “hey, one arm broken is enough.” We know we would.

Not Nadine. Nope, climbing a ladder in December, in the midst of starting a new business, she fell and broke broke both her arms. Why? That’s just the way Nadine rolls.

And she does roll. She’s a USA Cycling Level 2 coach who has studied running biomechanics from Bobby McGee (no, not that one, the Olympic running coach), as well as other elite coaches, and she’s setting up shop in Wallingford.

A year or so ago, Nadine was Director of Commercial Operations for a local medical devices company. A serious illness took her away from work, and when she recovered, her position had been eliminated. Seeing it as an opportunity, she decided to open a multisport training clinic by the Woodland Park Zoo. She recruited a network of eleven triathlon coaches as well as “Barefoot Ted” to provide training and hung out her shingle.

So, if triathlons and endurance events are your gig, check her out. Her web site is up at http://www.challengemultisport.com/, she’s remodeled, she’s recruited, she’s pedaling, and she’s not even winded.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I tried Challenge Multisport last week. After training at a larger local facility in the past, it was refreshing to train in a facility that offered more personal attention. The location (next to Woodland Park/Green Lake) is perfect for a post-ride run and/or swim without the need to travel anywhere else.
