Wallingford, be my Valentine!

So what all is going on special in Wallingford this Valentine’s Day? We already mentioned that you can tan yourself crispy for free at Tropical Tan, but did you know that Fuel has “heart-shaped Flipsides, Piepops (pie lollipops!), and our as-seen-on-TV Slab Pie!”? Put in your special order for those by Friday at 5 pm for Saturday or Sunday pick-up.

And, course, the restaurants are getting in the lovin’ game, too. Avila is offering a special menu for Valentine’s that includes baked oysters rockefeller, maine lobster wellington, and chocolate soufflé,  Tilth has beef tartare, prawn bisque and porcini vanilla brulée on theirs, and Eva has a special three-course menu, with $5 from every diner going to FamilyWorks. Now that’s love.

That’s what we’ve heard, anyway. Where else is the lovin’ at in our ‘hood?

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
