Scouts scoop scanners

OK, they’re collecting more than scanners, but we just get all loopy for alliterations. Christopher writes:

Boy Scout Troop 186 is conducting an e-cycling drive this Saturday as a fundraiser for troop activates. We’re encouraging folks to contact us this week and schedule a pickup time for Saturday (March 27th) morning. We’ll pick up as many boxes as you have at $25 / a box. Old computers, cell phones, chargers, cables, monitors, TVs, printers (small surcharge there), you name it.

If you’ve got electronics to eject, contact them at [email protected]. Another option for electronics recycling is to drop off at InterConnection on Pacific. They will use the parts to refurbish old computers to sale to poor communities around the world.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I’d say donate what you want to the Scouts and then bring your e-waste to InterConnection. You won’t find a more ethical ecycler in Seattle.
