TheBL_2_2-8403 Latin dance community in Seattle is a large and fast growing scene. You are able to dance, usually with a live band, almost every night of the week somewhere. Wallingford now has three of those night right in the center of our neighborhood. Babalu features Latin Mambo Night on Wednesday. Featuring live music by Cambalache a nine piece high energy Salsa band covering several styles from Salsa to Bachata to Mambo. Some of the best dancers in Seattle come out to this night which always makes it entertaining. And no cover means no excuse not to try it out.

Just a Babalu-8couple doors down at Selena’s you can dance Friday and Saturday night. Friday night features DJ Edgar with a mix of Salsa, Rumba, and Bachata among others. Saturday nights are Havana Nights hosted by DJ Baracoa with a focus on Cuban music. About once a month or so he brings in a live band, acts such as Supersones and Grupo Ashe. This night also usually includes some basic dance instruction and demonstration for those less advanced dancers. No cover unless there is a band.

This looks like a lot of fun! I lived in southern Spain for six years and loved to dance flamenco and sevillana.
