Free Book Contest! – Your Pet’s Motto

  • Post author:

Because she loves us, Wallingford author Rita Amer is giving a free autographed copy of her new children’s book The Cat with the Golden Fang to the reader who can submit a comment with the best motto that describes their own pet.

The Cat with the Golden Fang is a light-hearted adventure with a feline heroine Marta Petunia’s whose family crest reads:  “Touch Not My Tail, Lest You Suffer My Claw”.   Here are a couple of early entries, but I’m sure you can come up with something at least as good for your little furry (or not-so-little-and/or-not-so-furry) companion:

  • My dog Jo’s Motto is “Pee not outside, but on the sleek and shiny hardwood floors!”
  • Kenny (cat) – “Live life full of love and attention.  Wisdom is not necessary.”

Just click here and add your comment!  You can include details such as pet’s name, appearance, brief explanation.  Deadline is Wed. May 12th and Rita will pick the winner.  We will also post a photo of you (and maybe your pet) with Rita on the blog!

Finally, Kara posts this:  “Rita will be here at Not A Number on Wed. June 2 at 6pm, along with author and cool city councilmember Nick Licata!  That’s also Art Walk evening, and Farmer’s Market day, so plenty of fun on the Coolest Block in Wallingford (coolestblock.com)…

Helen

Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world. She has worn a track between her house, QFC and the library and spends a lot time poking her nose into things. She is a mother, does volunteer work and is interested in local, green and child-related issues. She has an advanced degree in English literature and thus reads a lot and enjoys the craft of writing. She also works part-time for her husband’s software company (doesn’t everyone have a software company around here?).
