Henry – NSFW

Henry for SaleAre there any four letters more likely to make you click than “NSFW”? We think not. (For the digilliterate, that stands for “Not Safe For Work”, and indicates the presence of images or language that you wouldn’t want flashing up on your screen when the boss walks by.)

Well, we figure you’d have to squint to really get that this is NSFW, and if you’re squinting, well, enjoy.

Ryan “Henry” Ward, known for the many colorful, cartoonish murals he’s painted around the city (see Henry and Walt’s for Wallyhood coverage) has also applied his brush to a softer canvas: the lovely woman you see pictured to the right. A photo and collage of the work is now on display at Wallingford’s own Grizzled Wizard, off in a side room by the pinball table. The work is for sale, as are several companion pieces displaying the process of creation.

Stop in for your own little art walk, and while you’re there, tip one back.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
