Sorry for the late notice, folks, but today, from 9 am – 3 pm, the fabulous Phinney Garage Sale Day, the best all-neighborhood garage sale day in the city is happening:

Come out and join us for the 17th annual Greenwood Garage Sale Day! It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbors while buying and selling treasures!

There will be a Flea Market in the lower parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Center (6532 Phinney Ave N), a Tool Sale at the Phinney Center’s Tool Library, Rummage Sale at the Greenwood Senior Center (525 N 85th Street) and individual garage sales and rummage sales all over the neighborhood!

Now go, go and buy exercise equipment, serving dishes and sweaters that you can store on a shelf somewhere for several years until you decide to sell them at your own garage sale!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
