Answer Some Questions – Help the Library!

  • Post author:

We will do almost anything in our house to help the Wallingford Branch of the Seattle Public Library.  So, taking a brief online survey doesn’t seem like much to ask. It took me less than 10 minutes and it was informative! For example, did you know that the Library offers the following services (great tidbits for your next dinner party)?:

  • Online magazines and newspapers (for example, Consumer Reports and the New York Times) – Skip those expensive subscriptions, save some trees!
  • Librarian assistance available 24 hours a day via online chat – For those insomniacs who need to talk to a Librarian at 3 AM
  • Homework help – Almost makes it too easy
  • Personal appointments with a genealogy librarian – Taking your roots very seriously
  • Classes for non-English speakers – ?Que?

Please click here to check it out, you’ll be glad you did.  The survey runs through May 16th.  And for the big picture here’s their Strategic Planning page.  The Friends of SPL even have their own blog!

By the way, this particular question cracked me up:  “In a typical month, how many times do you visit a Seattle Public Library building, including the Central Library, branch libraries, and the bookmobile?“.   “More than 30” was not a choice.

Helen

Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world. She has worn a track between her house, QFC and the library and spends a lot time poking her nose into things. She is a mother, does volunteer work and is interested in local, green and child-related issues. She has an advanced degree in English literature and thus reads a lot and enjoys the craft of writing. She also works part-time for her husband’s software company (doesn’t everyone have a software company around here?).

Thanks Helen!  I took the survey the other day & actually learned about more services I wasn’t yet aware of.

Totally worth the few minutes it takes to fill out – Anything to support the libraries…
