Friday Night Twilight Walk

  • Post author:

Slow, soft summer sunset.  A stretch limo that seems to go on forever turns left onto 45th Street obstructing traffic in both directions with teenage boys hanging out the windows screaming their heads off.  Prom Night I can only assume?  Too startled to get a photo.

Turning south down 1st Ave.  Some hard, new little pears are sprouting.

And Emily has finally gotten her Ph.D.!

More teenagers dressed in formal-wear giggling in front of someone’s house.  No photo, to protect the innocent.

Swing back onto 45th Street.  Two enormous guys in matching black Adidas track suits standing outside Sea Monster Lounge.  Too intimidating for a photo.

A line out the door of Fainting Goat Gelato for a change:

Lots more couples, people having cigarettes than usual.  Darkness falls.  A guy driving a Jeep confidently down 45th Street with the lights off.

Helen

Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world. She has worn a track between her house, QFC and the library and spends a lot time poking her nose into things. She is a mother, does volunteer work and is interested in local, green and child-related issues. She has an advanced degree in English literature and thus reads a lot and enjoys the craft of writing. She also works part-time for her husband’s software company (doesn’t everyone have a software company around here?).

Fainting Goat had fairly lengthy lines all 3 times I walked by this past weekend.  Good for them!

I like this idea of twilight observations in the Hood. Can’t blame you for skipping taking pictures of the Sea Monster patrons.
