West Wallingford Walk

Chocolati on 45th St. is playing the dance-sequence music from Napoleon Dynamite (Jamiroquai).  A guy in line suddenly busts out his moves.

At the Chevron station, a driver is sitting perfectly still on the asphalt next to his cab with head bowed.  At first glance, it looks like he’s having a cigarette but there’s no smoke.  Prayer, meditation?

The new Caffe Appassionato on Stone Way seems to be open, late hours?  No, a private party.  People drinking glasses of champagne, tables loaded with cupcakes and gifts.  A birthday, perhaps.

A row of 5 heavily-equipped guys on bicycles wearing headlamps on pulls up to QFC.  What do they need to buy this time of night, and why?

Little vehicles at rest for the night.

Helen

Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world. She has worn a track between her house, QFC and the library and spends a lot time poking her nose into things. She is a mother, does volunteer work and is interested in local, green and child-related issues. She has an advanced degree in English literature and thus reads a lot and enjoys the craft of writing. She also works part-time for her husband’s software company (doesn’t everyone have a software company around here?).

Let’s not forget that Wallingford continues a little more West beyond Stone Way.  I don’t want the neglect to sink in too much 😉

Good thing you didn’t get a pic of me buying ice cream at QFC at 3 am! The cab driver was def. praying.
