A Hop, Skip and a Jump

Oh no!  Missing Frog Sweater!  Sad little boy is missing the sweater he made with his mama! Awesome detailed drawing with frog’s eyes on the hood.  Call if you see it!:  701-7302.

Another frog inside A Muddy Cup.

Step inside for the first time, instantly this is my new favorite coffee shop.

If the row of ceramic critters doesn’t convince you, take a closer look at the fake deer head wearing sunglasses (her name is Chloe).

And the rocking horse.

Mathew says Sarah hand sponged the warm colors and the ultra-cute decor comes from garage sales and Goodwill.  It’s like being in someone’s 1970’s basement rec room.

On the way home, I see the Night Light Nail salon has its own respectable collection of ceramic figurines.

Helen

Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world. She has worn a track between her house, QFC and the library and spends a lot time poking her nose into things. She is a mother, does volunteer work and is interested in local, green and child-related issues. She has an advanced degree in English literature and thus reads a lot and enjoys the craft of writing. She also works part-time for her husband’s software company (doesn’t everyone have a software company around here?).

I went to A Muddy Cup last week. The vibe is friendly and warm, the owners are welcoming, and the drinks are delicious. I even got a free frog-shaped sugar cookie! National Novel Writing Month is coming up, and I anticipate doing a lot of writing and caffeine-ing there. Big thanks to Sarah and Mathew for opening such a wonderful place in our neighborhood.

Had a lovely coffee from there today. It really is a cozy place. I can’t wait to writer there during NaNo myself!
