Obama Roadblocks

  • Post author:

Don’t be surprised if it’s a little tough to get around parts of Seattle tomorrow, POTUS is in town. The details of his schedule aren’t made public for obvious reasons, but we did get this advisory:

Tomorrow morning there will likely be closures on local streets as the President attends an event at a private residence, and then attends an event at 11 a.m. at the Edmundson Pavilion on Montlake Boulevard NE next to Husky Stadium. Rolling closures are again likely on the freeway or major arterials as the President travels to an airport when leaving the city after the event at the Edmundson Pavilion.

OK, OK, we admit it. That’s OUR private residence he’ll be visiting. You know, the White House has bee hives now, and we guess Barry heard about our setup and wanted a few pointers, so we’ll show him around, then maybe shoot some hoops across the street at the JSIS playground before he has to go on about his official business.

Either that, or some guy in an Obama costume totally swindled us.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

If I were President (God help us all) and my motorcade passed by Top Pot Donuts… I’d stop and pick up a dozen, too.

    Particularly the glazed crullers.

Are you kidding me! You have missed heaven on earth: MIGHTY Os!!! These are the only donuts worth eating and they are a Wallingford native! Besides, the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you haven’t been to this delicious little spot may I suggest that you stop doing whatever it is you are doing right now and head over to N. 56th, just one short block east of Meridian. (Across from Zoka’s)
AND! They have fair trade, organic espresso. AND they are extremely environmentally conscious… bye bye Top Pot.
Oh! Did I mention that after 4pm it’s two for one on the mighty Os???
