Dave Matthews Charity Show

Wallingford’s most famous resident, Dave Matthews, is giving a special acoustic performance with Tim Reynolds on Monday December 6th at McCaw Hall. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning (Saturday, November 7th) at 10 am and are expected to sell out within hours.

The twist? While the ticket prices are high ($135), more than 100% of it is going to charity: after you purchase, you’ll get a token to use to direct $150 to a charity of your choice through JustGive.org. Flipping through the JustGive eligible organizations, there are a number of Wallingford based charities (Solid Ground, Family Works, 45th Street Clinic, etc.), so there ya go: double Wallingford goodness. Add yourself into the mix, and it’s a Wallingford good-fest.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same.
