Wallyhood 1,000

  • Post author:

Friendship can’t really be quantified, except perhaps on Facebook, where, thanks to the random efforts of Charles Brashears, we topped 1,000 Friends today. As of this writing, we’re up to 1,004. We feel loved.

As a small token of our appreciation for ushering over the threshold of this milestone*, we are presenting Charles with a gift certificate worth 1,000 cents donated by the newest Wallingford business, A Muddy Cup (266 NE 45th St) coffee shop.

Thank you, Charles, and thanks to the other 1,003 of you! We Like™ you, too.

* We appreciate our readers’ indulgence in allowing us this mixed metaphor.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
