Blurry, Christmas ducksThe weatherman says rain for the weekend, but he also says rain today, and we’re looking at blue skies as we write this, so there ya go.

Lots going on in our little ‘hood this weekend, either the rain gods decide to blow:

  • City Cellars is holding a Wallyhood Wine Tasting Friday, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
  • Saturday, 4:30 – 7:30 pm is the Pathway of Lights is a festival around Green Lake, with music, luminary, and walking. Read bout it on My Green Lake.
  • Several artists are having sales in their homes, including a milliner and a photographer.
  • OmCulture down on Pacific is hosting a “Holiday Tango Milonga, a delicious combination of tango, wine and chocolate” on Saturday at 9 pm ($20)

Drink, dance, art and light. Take that boredom!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
