Stoned Soup

We were chatting with our friend D. the other day, who mentioned he had recently attended a performance at Stone Soup Theatre‘s production of How I Learned To Drive, by Paula Vogel. We reproduce our best recollected transcription of his orally delivered review here:

Oh hey, you know that little theater on Stone Way, little place tucked in up from that pit on 40th? Hey, it’s a gem. We stopped in there, pretty baked one night last week, just on a whim and bam, it’s like a whole little theater in there! Tiny, like you’re in someone’s living room, you know, the actors are all right there with you, you know, but they’re great, a full show, great night’s entertainment. Ten bucks for a great little treat.

There ya have it folks, a perfect night out, especially (but not necessarily) if supplemented by a stop at Ballard’s new medical marijuana dispensary. How I Learned To Drive closes its month-long run this weekend on February 27th. Ticket prices are “$10-20 and Pay What You Will on Thursdays”. Get it while you can.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
