Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world.     We have a metal door like that one in our hosue separating the basement from the garage. I imagine is is some kind of fire door.

    We had one, too, between the garage and basement. Also had a small one (more like a window) that was the “coal” door, used with the original coal furnace.
