Satay and Potatoes

  • Post author:

photo.JPGWe stopped in Satay, the new Malaysian restaurant on 45th on Friday for some lunch and spotted this sign on the door.

Patrick McCready, one of the two owners, told us the Food Network’s Meat and Potatoes was filming that day for a spot next season. He said all told, they shot close to 9 hours of footage for what will end up being around a 7 minute segment.

We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, try the red curry. It’s amazing.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I really like the chicken satay (even more than the lamb satay).

Whatever you choose, though, get the flatbread — it’s amazing.

This place is excellent, although a little pricey. If you haven’t eaten there you are missing out! We haven’t run into a dish we didn’t love.
