What in the Wallingford

  • Post author:

We’re a bit tardy with our What in the Wallingford contest this week…we skipped it altogether last week. We wanted to wait until we could tell you more than just what the answer was, but the backstory. The photo from the contest is at left, a backed up version at right:

This tree of bird houses in the front yard of the Hudgins house at 4210 Burke. We’re told that Mrs. Hudgins always had a sweet spot for bird houses, so Mr. assembled and raised the collection you see here as a gift. We imagine the birds enjoy it as much as she. And congratulations to Michelle Meako, chosen at random from those providing the correct answer. She’ll receive a certificate good for two rentals at Scarecrow Video, home to one of the largest video rental collections in the country.

This week’s What in the Wallingford photo puzzler appears to be sticking its tongue out at you. If you know where it is, fill in your answer in the form below for a chance to win a fabulous prize from one of our sponsors.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
