SWAT at 42nd and Corliss

We just got a note from a reader who reports a large police SWAT team presence at 4200 and Corliss. That’s all we know for now, if you find out more, please share.

UPDATE 6:56 pm: Reader Andrea told us:

I live nearby and came home to find a SWAT van and about 5 police cars plus three black (undercover?) cars blocking my street. Concerned I asked them what was going on and they said there was a domestic disturbance that supposedly involved a gun, but that there turned out not to be a gun after all.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    I saw the SWAT truck driving down 45th as I was leaving the teriyaki joint at Sunnyside. I was curious what the drama was, glad to hear it was not a major incident.
