Michelle Quesada, Architect:

Where are you from? – A global village.  I was born in Houston.  The family was living in Venezuela at the time.  I grew up in developing nations.  I have called Seattle home for over 30 years.

What’s the secret of your success? – Listening and cultivating a collaborative approach.  Architecture is a process, made richer by conversation and inclusion.

What do you like best about Wallingford? – Our awareness of community.  Most folks here participate in some way in the neighborhood, whether it is leading a community group like Mary Heim and Community Preparedness or simply inviting neighbors in for tea.  We are very lucky to live here!

Finally, what’s your favorite flavor of ice cream? – Chocolate!  I am such a girl…

Helen

Helen has lived in Wallingford for 16 years and think it’s the best neighborhood in Seattle, possibly the world. She has worn a track between her house, QFC and the library and spends a lot time poking her nose into things. She is a mother, does volunteer work and is interested in local, green and child-related issues. She has an advanced degree in English literature and thus reads a lot and enjoys the craft of writing. She also works part-time for her husband’s software company (doesn’t everyone have a software company around here?).
