Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will host an open house to discuss the Wallingford Neighborhood Greenway installation on Thursday, December 8, from 6:00-7:30pm in the Commons at Hamilton International Middle School (1610 N. 41st St). Everyone is invited to learn more about the construction and use of the first segment.

The Wallingford Neighborhood Greenway will start at Latona Ave NE and NE 44th Street. The greenway will travel west on NE/N 44th Street and turn south onto Burke Ave N. From Burke Ave N, the greenway will continue west on N 43rd Street and cross Stone Way N. (Click on the map for a larger view or download the Neighborhood Greenway mailer here.)

Proposed project elements along the greenway route include:

• signs and pavement legends
• spot pavement repairs
• crossing improvements
• improved landscaping at some traffic circles
• limited parking restrictions at traffic circles
• median island with access changes at Stone Way N and N 43rd Street

For additional information, please call (206) 684-ROAD or visit SDOT web site at http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/bikeprogram.htm

Want to ride the greenway route tomorrow? Cathy Tuttle of Spokespeople will be organizing a ride in the afternoon. Here are the details:

I’m also riding the length of the greenway (just under 1 mile) on Sat Dec 3 with Spokespeople. You are welcome to come along. Leaving at  2pm from 42nd and Densmore (next to Hamilton). Then we are headed to the Wallingford Neighborhood Office at 2:30 Saturday to learn about E-bikes.
