House of Julie

OK, look at the drawing on the left. Contemplative. Introspective. Restrained.

Now, look at the video on the right. None of the above.

Now, go see both of them, Monday night at the Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center.

Join Julie Cascioppo and friends, on Monday, April 30th, at 7:30pm when the Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center will be transformed into “The House of Julie.” This tribute to the golden age of television’s variety shows is also a cutting-edge encounter with some of Julie’s fabulous discoveries of local talents: Roo Forrest, Kathy Liao, Marypat Faraone, Bill White, Elaine Bonow, Jean Mann, Becca Duran, Marti MacEwan, Crime and the Forces of Devil (Dara), and Steve Rice.

There will be music, performance, art, interviews, and a wonderful reception with food and wine afterwards at Julie’s place above the performance space.

Now tell me what else you got going on on a Monday night that’s better. Nothing, that’s what.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
