Wallingford Art Walk

  • Post author:

“Bimonthly” is one of those tricky words: does it mean twice per month or once every two months? Both, actually, which is why we prefer “semi-monthly” for things that happen twice per month. There’s no good unambiguous term for every-two-months, though.

Anyway, tomorrow, Wednesday June 6th from 6 – 9 pm*  is the every-two-months Wallingford Art Walk! Here’s a list of the participating businesses that we know of:

  • Assistance League Thrift Shop: Patricia Cook (watercolor)
  • Wine World & Spirits featured artist:  Miska (painting)
  • Blue Star Café: B&B Imagery (also offering 50% off entrees with every entree’ purchased if you say ‘ARTWALK’)
  •  CPR Seattle: Leigh Pate (photography, that’s her work to the right there and she’ll be hosting an opening reception)
  • Keller Williams Greater Seattle: Kelsey Giosso (watercolor)
  • Chocolati Cafe on 45th: Brian David Casey (photography)
  • Caffe Appassionato: Colin Bartholomew (photography)
  • StuStuStudio: Michael Verner (photography). Drinks and snacks will be in full force! The Stu is located at 1216 N 40th St., behind Pagliacci Pizza, across from 7-11.
  • Creative Music Adventures Gallery: Carole d’Inverno
  • Seattle Mosaic Arts: Annual Members Show
  • Cutz Meridian Salon: Colleen Lambert
  • H&R Block: Tana Knight
  • Fremont Midwifery:Sarah Bylsma

What to do afterwards? You’ve got two after-parties, east and west:

  • WINE WORLD is hosting an “after hours” party for all Art walk businesses and featured artists from 9:00-10:30 pm the evening of June 6th.  Swing by for a little vino and snack before heading home and mingle with all of the store owners and artists!
  • Stu Studio says “depending on how many people show up, our doors will often stay open until midnight. So if you are looking for the after-after party, come on down! “

* Yes, it starts at 6/6 6 pm. The DateTime of the Beast!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
