OK, let’s play a game: name bands and musicians that have as little in common as you can. We’ll start! Willie Nelson, Alanis Morrisette and…KISS!

Sorry, we lose. All three have something in common: they’ve all played with Brad Dutz. And this Saturday, you too can join the club:

The Drum Exchange is proud to welcome top recording percussionist, Brad Dutz, for a FREE clinic on universal percussion techniques for all types of hand drums & mallet instruments. The clinic is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at The Drum Exchange, 4501 Interlake Ave. N. Space is limited, so please register by phone: 206.545.3564. Adults and youth (age 10+) of all drumming levels are sure to enjoy Brad’s unique ways of creating rhythm.

Brad Dutz has played with Alanis Morrisette, Kiss, Willie Nelson, Rickie Lee Jones, and Tribal Tech; on several movie soundtracks and TV shows, and teaches at Cal State Long Beach. He has also written three instructional books & released a series of videos for beginning hand drummers.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
