Power Out in Fremont

  • Post author:

Update 2:59PM: Reader Shelly sent us the following Tweet:

Traffic signals out at intersection of n 45th & Stone Way in Wallingford. Not good. Busy intersection.

We just received this note from Seattle City Light:

Seattle City Light crews are working to restore power to more than 4,000 customers affected by an outage in North Queen Anne, Discovery Park, and Fremont. The outage appears to be caused by a tree falling into lines. Restoration is expected at 5 p.m.

Sounds like there are also scattered outages in West Seattle.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Power on, if flickering, basement flooded: eastern Wallyford.

Same here – water in the basement, lights went out just long enough to nuke my DVR. Also Eastern Wally.

If you are work wondering if you have power, City Light has a cool outage map – http://www.seattle.gov/light/sysstat/ This is also available as an app (in the Andriod market, at least)

Just crossed 45th and Stone a few minutes ago (6:30pm) and the traffic light is still not operating.
