Tomorrow, President Obama will address the nation in his first State of the Union since the 2012 elections. He’s expected to outline his agenda for economy and job creation, hopefully with at least a hat tip to climate change. He may also discuss the exit strategy for the Afghanistan war.
If all this political talk tickles your wonk bone, then join the 43rd District Democrats for a viewing at Kate’s Pub (309 NE 45th St) from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The speech itself begins at 6:00 pm, but you’ll want to make sure you’ve got time to take advantage of their fantastic happy hour: 1/2 off all food with a drink purchase.
For our money, there’s no deal better than Kate’s “Build-A-Burger” at happy hour: half off and add as many extras as you want, including bacon, grilled mushrooms, jalapeños, guacamole, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and even a fried egg at no extra charge. Mmm…MM!
