Wedding Season Approaches

Matt Mason February 25, 2010 2 Comments

As our less than wintery winter plods along, many people are looking forward to spring for more then just the weather. As couples prep for the big day Wallingford has the icing on the cake, or more correctly, the cupcake. Trophy Cupcakes, in Wallingford Center, is holding tastings for couples interested in cupcake creations for their reception. The tastings are hosted by Jennifer Shea, the proprietor and head wedding consultant. Participants get to taste 12 flavors of mini-cupcakes and review the over 40 varieties, not counting seasonal options, that Trophy offers. Colors and flavors can be perfectly matched to the themes and colors of the wedding. Cupcakes are also available for any other events you may be planning.

Tastings are complimentary and are held on Monday evenings. You must register in advance by emailing [email protected]

Well, as long as you’re talking about weddings, you should definitely consider my friend Christiane’s award-winning Flora Nova Design in Wallingford. Her floral arrangements are unique and stunning:

To chime in to the wedding-season discussion, I’ll add my own shameless suggestion: a great new bridal-wear shop called “Twice Blushed” has just opened up in Ballard: http://www.twiceblushed.com/Welcome.html For any bride planning a “green” wedding, designer Amanda Vernell’s reconstructed gowns are a really cool way to go. The shop also features handmade accessories from several local Seattle artists, including one from Wallingford (me!)
