What You Think, When You Think It

Kendall April 14, 2010 2 Comments

There have been some great discussions in our Forums and comments sections this past week, here are some highlights:

Beware of the Norovirus!  For those health fanatics out there you can learn the latest breaking news about a virus affecting our area…it makes me a little Noronervous! Moon Temple, a neighborhood restaurant and bar is a great late night karaoke stop, read what your neighbors have to say about it. Moon Temple is one of my personal favorites, if you want to know what I think… Need some suggestions on tree trimming, or plumbing?  We can help with…

School of Essential Ingredients

Jordan April 14, 2010 1 Comment

Erica Bauermeister, long-time Wallingford resident and the author of the novel The School of Essential Ingredients, took a break from her book tour and writing recently to meet us at the Mosaic Coffeehouse. She shared not only some of her insights into writing, but also some of the spots around Wallingford that inspired her.

Wallyhood: Thanks so much for taking time from your book tour. Sounds like it’s been hectic.

Erica Baumeister: It has been a lot of fun and a lot of work. They say if you want to be a professional writer, 50% of your time …

Redesign the Mosaic Den

Jordan April 13, 2010 3 Comments

We, …

Margaret April 13, 2010 32 Comments

What flavor is Wallingford? Lime “green” with just a hint of granola (though perhaps not as crunchy as Fremont)? Next month, Fainting Goat Gelato celebrates their one year anniversary here in Wallingford.  To mark the occasion, Wallyhood and Fainting Goat are teaming up to hold a contest in which readers can send in their ideas of what flavor gelato truly represents our neighborhood.

Post your entry below, in the comments section, now through April 26. On Friday, April 30, we will announce two winners:

Fainting Goat Selection: Fainting Goat will select one flavor that both represents the neighborhood…

Beck not at Good Shepherd Tonight

Jordan April 13, 2010 Comments are off

The things we do to get your attention. It shames us.

We just heard from Nicole and Karyn at the Alliance Française de Seattle that “France’s most-beloved daughter, award-winning actress and international musical star”, Charlotte Gainsbourg, is stopping by the Good Shepherd Center (4649 Sunnyside Ave. N #205) tonight, Tuesday, April 13th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

Charlotte is currently on tour promoting her latest album, titled IRM, where she collaborated with chart-topping American artist, Beck.
