Get Your Caffeine Fix at Lama G’s Cafe

Shannon November 15, 2010 4 Comments

It is not everyday that you can honestly say, “a Buddhist Lama made my latte this morning”.  Surprise! Where else but right here in Wallingford, of course, at Lama G’s Cafe (1060 N 39th Street), located next to Art of the Table where Candles Cafe used to be. Grab your caffeine fix made by Karma, a Buddhist Lama, better known as Lama G to his customers and friends.

Karma is originally from Bhutan, but lived in India and Nepal most of his life until moving to Europe to teach.  After moving to Vancouver 1o years ago to operate a meditation center, Karma now owns and operates Lama G’s Cafe.

This small and cozy cafe has been opened since June, serving a rich, bold, and smooth espresso from Harmmerhead Coffee Roasters an organic fair trade bean from a small family roaster from Bellingham.  The cafe makes breakfast daily, as well as tasty, homemade panini sandwiches and soups for lunch.

When the weather turns and there is warmth in the air there is a lovely, garden patio available for seating out back.  Lama G’s Cafe also offers free Wifi to customers.

According to owners Jill and Karma:

We feature a wonderful and distinct chai latte, homemade by Lama G daily, it’s a bit spicy, great for the season.  People love to come and chat with Lama G, he’s very friendly and theres always a good relaxing vibe.  Beginning soon we’ll be opened for evenings Thu, Fri, Sat for live music, beer, and wine.

Lama G’s Cafe Hours: 7am-6pm Tues-Sunday, Closed on Mondays

Would someone mind translating the Tibetan? I’ve run it through the only online translator I can find, and the results are pretty fragmented…

Great little cafe, food and drinks made with care. I will for sure visit any time when I pay visit to Seatlle from Vancouver BC. I would not mind eastern dishes sometimes in future. How about a Ema Dachi Sandwich.

    Best wishes
