Snow Day

Margaret Margaret November 24, 2010 4 Comments

With schools closed and sheets of ice covering all the roads, Wallingford residents cleaned off their sleds, tobaggans, and saucers, and took to the slopes in our parks.

Some even made use of their streets.

I hate to be s spoilsport, but sliding in the street is not only a bad idea, it also compacts the snow further and makes for a more hazardous, longer lasting ice patch.

    I’m just sayin’..

Too bad the lake wasn’t frozen for a pick-up game of hockey.

Not only is tubing and sledding in the street stupid and unsafe, it’s illegal for a good reason. Why turn a fun activity into something bad? Keep it safe, PLEASE!!
